[Cold. Overcast. It's a stark contrast to the warmth and rays that Terra had felt not too long ago, and he frowns at the skies like they'll tell him what's going on. No Keyblade, no clothes, no items ... and no memories of how he ended up here.

And that was without taking those strange wings into account.

He walks through the wet grass, pausing long enough to scoop up a book that barely sticks out against the tall grasses. He flips it open, scanning. Little boxes, little switches and buttons... He pushes a few of the buttons experimentally.]

Odd book. Doesn't look like a command board... Huh.

...Not the time for this.

[With a shrug, he snaps the journal shut, not aware that it had recorded what he was saying.

By the time he opens the journal again, he'll have made his way to the dd New Feather watch station. Somewhere fairly safe where he can dig up some ~~ill-fitting~~ clothes for himself.

He'll give the journal a second look now that he's at least found some shelter.]

It's... [A pause. She's just so relieved to hear his voice right now and—it might have to wait a moment. When she speaks again there's a worried tone to it.] It's fine. Terra, is Ven with you?

Yes, he's here with me. [He's not sure what to do with the journal exactly, but since he can see Aqua's picture, maybe she can see Ven if he turns the book towards him for a moment.

Terra holds the book back in front of him after a moment.] We're heading back to the village now. ...He said you've been here awhile.

[Oh thank goodness. They'll have to fill Terra in on all that stuff with Vanitas later.]

Mm, it's been a few months now. Time somehow works differently in this world, so that's why it may not seem like it for you. [A beat.] What... is the last thing you remember before waking up here?

[Terra holds the journal open and aloft with one hand, rubbing his chin thoughtfully at the question. The time differences again...]

I made a detour to a world. ...One with star-shaped fruit.

[Aqua has to think for a minute while she tries to figure out the timeline. She's pretty sure she has a good idea on what all Terra doesn't know yet and thinking about having to tell him is breaking her heart. It'll have to wait until later, though.]

And with . I think when I arrived it wasn't too much longer after you, and I knew you had been there. There's... been a lot of things that has happened since then.

[Considering their last conversation and his mood when he had left, Terra isn't sure how to feel about Aqua's words. They were his friends, and he had just made a resolution to himself...

But that didn't change what had happened.]

So you followed me even there. [He shakes his head.] It sounds like I'll be doing a lot of listening.

...Terra. [It stings a little and Aqua's grip on her journal tightens for a second. There's a lot she wants to say right now, to tell Terra how much Xehanort was lying to him, but she stops herself. That's something that needs to be done in person.]

Only if you will listen. Let Ven bring you back to the house at least.

[A short time ago, he would have rejected the idea outright--not so much following after Ven, but standing by and listening to what Aqua had to say. There was anger there, and that feeling of betrayal he couldn't quite rid himself of.

He thinks about his Keyblade and its newest form after that meeting with Riku. The name that seemed so right for it. Terra sighs to himself, but doesn't stop walking.]

I'll listen. [He has a feeling he won't like what he'll hear, but...] I owe you that much, for walking away before.

[Well, that's quite a bit of relief right there. They never really did get all that resolved between them, and if Terra is willing to listen and not turn his back, then maybe she can make things right again. She hopes so, anyway.

It's a few moments before she speaks up again.]

...all right. I'll be waiting here for you both.

[Presuming Ventus manages to get him back to the house in one piece, Terra takes a moment to look at what's been Aqua and Ven's home for the last few months. It's ... well, quaint, and nothing like the buildings in the Land of Departure.

This totally has nothing to do with a slight apprehension at seeing Aqua again.]

[Quaint is a way to put it! It's nothing like home was, but they've been trying to make the most out of it. And Aqua has made sure to keep that extra room open for Terra.

She knew it would probably be sometime before they got there, since Ven would most likely take Terra to retrieve his things first, so Aqua had spent that time mostly pacing around the house to keep herself distracted. She was a little anxious, even if she was trying not to show it too much.

Eventually she stops and waits in the kitchen to listen for the front door to open.]

[Before long, Ven opens the door, peeking inside with a sheepish expression. In retrospect, he probably should have told Aqua where he was going, but at least they both made it back in one piece.]

Aqua? You in there?

[He'll go ahead and step inside, waiting for Terra to follow.]

[Terra was at least able to talk to Aqua a little over the journal, so he knows she is waiting for them somewhere nearby. As he follows Ven inside, he looks around quietly.

Maybe he can see little touches of Aqua and Ven in the house. It's a little strange and sad to think they've been here for months without him.]

[Yeah, right now she's mostly just glad they made it back okay. And it's not like Ven doesn't know he really should tell her where he's going. She can't really blame him for bolting out like that anyway.

Once she hears Ven's voice, Aqua walks out to the living room to greet them. She pauses once she sees Terra there, actually here and okay. She's glad for that.

...not so glad that the first time the three of them are together again after this long might have some tension, and she can already see Terra might be aloof. First things first though, she turns to Ven.]

Have you filled him in on anything yet?

[Ven hasn't noticed the tension just yet. As far as he's concerned, they're all together again, and that's what counts.

So, when Aqua asks about Terra, he smiles and places his hands behind his head.]

Yep! I told him a bunch of stuff about this place.

[Meanwhile, Terra is already looking at Aqua somewhat guardedly. He manages to fight the urge to cross his arms, glancing at Ven before speaking to Aqua.]

There's still a lot I don't know. But it sounds like you two have been making friends.

[Interesting friends, for that matter.]

[She nods.]

There's a lot of nice people in this world. There's... also a few we've met before that are here. Zack is here, but he's older and didn't know any of us. [Starting out lightly first before she moves onto people like Riku and Sora. And Vanitas.]

Yeah. I think he's a different Zack than the one we know, but he still acts a lot like him!

[Just... more experienced and ten times as heroic. However, he'll leave out too many extra details; no need to overwhelm Terra.]

[Fortunately, Terra's already talked to Riku and Sora by now. He nods at the mentioning of Zack, just accepting it as another oddity of this world. He wasn't overwhelmed too easily.]

How about you two? [There's a tentative pause.] ...You've been staying safe?

[Four months. That's a long time to spend on an unknown world.]

We have. There's... been a few things, though. [She pauses to take a glance at Ven. They're going to have to tell him about Vanitas.]

[Ven hesitates. Isn't it too soon to explain everything? He doesn't want Terra to get so upset on his first day, but...

It's the right thing to do.]

Yeah. Like Vanitas... He's been causing a lot of trouble lately.

[The very mentioning of that name causes Terra's body to tense up. His eyes narrow and his frown deepens.]

Vanitas is here?

I'm afraid so. I haven't seen him much myself, but he's been after Ven. He even attacked someone here a few months ago.

Yeah...

[Man, how does he even bring up the χ-blade at a time like this?]

There's something he wants from me. Something really dangerous.

[Dangerous. Upon seeing that uncomfortable look on Ven's face, Terra reaches over and puts a hand on his friend's shoulder.]

He won't get it. [His voice is resolute.] With both Aqua and myself here, we won't let him do anything to you, Ven.
