Welcome to the New Feathers. I hope everyone's settling in all right. Things have been peaceful lately, and it's better than landing in Luceti in the middle of an experiment. I'm Terra, and I've been here for half a year now.

I'd like to ask for some help from Ven's friends. You might also know him as "Ventus." Ven's been here a lot longer than me, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't had a chance to celebrate his birthday at all. There were plans for a surprise party, but things just ... kept happening. [The draft. Aqua's second disappearance. And now Kohan had ran off with little more than a note. There's a noticeable pause in the message before Terra continues.] I'd appreciate any help.

I guess I just never got around to it. [Kind of the truth. It's not like she didn't notice the boys fighting for her attention. It was easier just not to pick and love them both equally, that's all.]

I've ... heard about it. Haven't really seen an example of it, though. So they even look the same? That must be odd for you.

[He contemplates how to answer that. It didn't seem like something that could just be easily ignored, if the story had floated out to other worlds.] Well, I hope the paopu works its magic whenever you do.

They're pretty close, yeah. Different dress styles and my Selphie's younger than this one, but they look pretty close to being the same and they act the same in some ways. It's even weirder when both our version and another version of someone are here at the same time. That's happened with both Cloud and Aerith.

More like friends of Sora's that I've met. Sora's...kind of got a lot of friends from all over the worlds. People and animals...and I think even an alien? I guess world-travel does that for you.

Yeah, I think it comes with the traveling. [A quiet chuckle.] Sounds like something Ven would do -- visit other worlds and make as many friends as possible.

I've been finding a lot of similarities between Sora and Ven. Do you find that strange at all?

Not really. I just thought they had similar personalities. [And that wasn't too strange, right?]

...in a way? You're similar to Riku, too. Maybe that's the only reason I find it so strange.

You think so? [He wonders just how transparent he must seem to her.] Maybe I saw a little of myself in him.

I think so. It's possible...because you passed your ability to him, right? Maybe that's why you were drawn to him.

Maybe. [It's hard to explain. The light had drawn him to that world, and he had already thought the light wanted him to meet with Riku before he had any impression of the boy. Was it because Riku was the elder of the two boys? Or was there something else he hadn't really been aware of?]

I guess we'll never know. The light works in strange ways...maybe it's for the same reason that Aqua met me.

She... [He never really did ask, did he?] Did you go through a ceremony with her? When you met?

...I'm not really sure. When I was young and living in the Garden, I was attacked by these monsters. I know now that they were the Unversed, but she came and saved me. She and the King both.

I remember that she had a Keyblade...and I remember touching it before she picked me up and rescued me. And after the monsters were gone she cast a spell on my necklace. [You know, the one she still wears that she's actually lifting up to show Terra through the camera.] She said it was a protection spell, something that would guide me toward the light to keep me safe.

I think...that's why when the Garden fell a year later I was sent to the islands. That's where Sora and Riku found me.

Would that be considered a ceremony?

[Despite everything that Kairi explains, Terra can't really see much of a correlation when she explains the spell. But touching the Keyblade...? Could that have been enough?]

Aqua is very talented with magic, and I think her spell may have been why you found your way to Riku and Sora ... but I don't think any of that could be considered a ceremony.

That's what I think, too. It's fine, I'm happy to help. But can I ask...well, what would be a ceremony then?

There's something of a proper ceremony when a Master bestows the Keyblade to a new wielder. ...It's more of a speech than anything. [He chuckles quietly.]

I never got that. Riku just handed me a Keyblade and that was that. But that means you gave him a speech...[So wait, then how did Sora...this is kind of a lot to process.] It's really as simple as "I make you my successor"?

The successor takes hold of the Master's Keyblade for awhile, too. If you have the makings, then through the simple act of taking, someday you'll also be able to wield the Keyblade. [...] ...But Riku just handed you a Keyblade? Not his own?

Yeah. It's...mine, I guess. He gave it to me and I was able to fight with it. Still am. I didn't have it for a while, but I got it back earlier this year.

Strange. The Keyblade should first appear to the wielder. But you didn't know you had a Keyblade until he gave it to you?

Right. And for a while I wasn't even sure it was mine because it went away right after that, and I couldn't summon it for a few years. But now I can...that's what I don't understand about it, I guess. Does it sound like something you're familiar with, Terra?

It doesn't. [He shakes his head faintly.] The Keyblade reacts to the heart of its wielder, so unless something happened that disturbed your heart, it should have appeared to you. [But if Riku had it originally, could it be that it was Riku's Keyblade, and that had somehow triggered Kairi's own Keyblade usage?

He sighs to himself.] Sorry. Even I don't know all of the mysteries of the Keyblade.

...what do you consider a disturbance to the heart? [She's got a feeling she knows the answer.]

Don't worry about it. We can all learn together...too bad there isn't just one person that knows everything though.
