I'd like to ask for some help from Ven's friends. You might also know him as "Ventus." Ven's been here a lot longer than me, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't had a chance to celebrate his birthday at all. There were plans for a surprise party, but things just ... kept happening. There's a bakery here that makes really great desserts. You could probably get an awesome cake there! [Kazooie herself approves heartily of their poppy seed muffins.]

And for games... think the Malnosso'd lend us some video games or something? Or maybe we could kick a ball around awhile!

A ball game of some sort would be a good, simple way to entertain everyone. I'm not sure about asking the Malnosso for anything. [He really didn't trust the idea.]

Oswald told me they'll give you stuff if you ask! Though I dunno, they never gave me a Jiggy... didn't even seem to know what it was. [Kazooie snorts audibly.]

... It's too bad they didn't let us keep the games at that Lucetiland place. Those were cool.

A Jiggy? [A puzzled expression. He's not familiar with what that is, clearly.]

Were you at least able to get some souvenirs?

I stole a couple of dolls from their game booth thingy! [And she is so obscenely proud of having done that.] Swiped 'em from right under that robot guy's nose!

... Serves 'em right for disqualifying me from their stupid games anyway.

[After a moment of thought:] I also won a doll of ol' Grunty the witch playing that Bombchu Bowling thing...

You actually got away with stealing? [That's surprising, so he can see what she'd be proud of that.] I heard they had some sort of penalty room for people who were breaking rules.

Piece of cake! [She tosses her head effortlessly, like it wasn't even something she had to try to do.] The robot-guy didn't even see me.

... Only chumps get caught doing something like that! And anyway, I'm a hero so I got lots of experience.

A hero? [One who steals? And calls people chumps?] You've done heroic things back in your world?

[A hero who steals, calls people chumps, feeds things alive to other people, beats up old ladies, murders a sentient ice cube couple to get items... Yeah, Kazooie doesn't have the best track record.]

Yep! I'm one of the best darn heroes there is, back home! Done everything from rescue people from witches to kicking butts of bad guys everywhere! And in between I even got time for minigames.

[It's a good thing Terra isn't really doubting her.]

It's a lot of responsibility, being a hero. So it's really impressive you had time for minigames.

Well, Grunty didn't really do much when we weren't coming to get her. I'm pretty sure she would've just sat on her butt if we hadn't come up the Tower of Tragedy.

Still, we had other people to help too, so it all worked out for everybody! [... Except for George and Mildred.]

What was it that this Grunty was doing, anyway? [Tower of Tragedy definitely didn't sound good.]

She was trying to suck out everybody's life force with the machine she and her dumb sisters built, the Big-O'-Blaster. It was so she could fix up her ugly old skeleton of a body! [... Never mind that Kazooie and Banjo caused it to be a skeleton in the first place.]

She zapped King Singalong with it and stole his life force pretty early on... he would've been a zombie forever if we hadn't undone it.

So she was really doing all of that for her own gain. [There could have been other ways to go around it...] Stealing a person's life force, too... It's a good thing you stopped her.

She was asking for it, personally! The game before that, she stole Banjo's sister Tooty, just so she could take her looks. That was back when she still had a body to be stupid-looking with.

[Kazooie snorts audibly.] Good thing she never learns. Pushing her around is great!

It sounds like she deserves being stopped. [Taking someone's sister to steal her looks?] I wouldn't really call it pushing around ... unless you're actually pushing her around to stop her.

We do it for two reasons: one, 'cause she's a bad guy and deserves it, and two, 'cause it's fun.

[... She might do it even if Gruntilda wasn't a bad guy, but Kazooie rarely outright attacks people who haven't done anything to her.]

Still, I don't thionk Banjo'd let me kick her around too much if she wasn't being so annoying!

Because it's fun...? [He blinks at that comment, then thinks that world, Neverland, he had visited. That flying boy, Peter Pan, had a similar way of speaking about pirate captain.

...So he decides to change the subject.] Who's Banjo?

Banjo's my sidekick back from home. He's a fat, kinda lazy brown bear in yellow shorts - he took me in off Breegull Beach awhile back. [As far as she knows, anyway. She's been living with him for a long time now.]

He's gone with me on all my adventures! ... Even though I usually have to drag him along.

Something of a reluctant hero in comparison to you, huh?

Yeah, no kidding. He'd rather just lay around and sleep all day! [And probably would, too, if Kazooie didn't squawk at him until he woke up.]
