Welcome to the New Feathers. I hope everyone's settling in all right. Things have been peaceful lately, and it's better than landing in Luceti in the middle of an experiment. I'm Terra, and I've been here for half a year now.

I'd like to ask for some help from Ven's friends. You might also know him as "Ventus." Ven's been here a lot longer than me, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't had a chance to celebrate his birthday at all. There were plans for a surprise party, but things just ... kept happening. Wonder why Ven's is different.

It might have been something I dreamed of. Sometimes my memories and my dreams still get confused...[It's as best an answer as he can give, really.]

...I'm not really sure. When I was young and living in the Garden, I was attacked by these monsters. I know now that they were the Unversed, but she came and saved me. She and the King both.

I remember that she had a Keyblade...and I remember touching it before she picked me up and rescued me. And after the monsters were gone she cast a spell on my necklace. [You know, the one she still wears that she's actually lifting up to show Terra through the camera.] She said it was a protection spell, something that would guide me toward the light to keep me safe.

I think...that's why when the Garden fell a year later I was sent to the islands. That's where Sora and Riku found me.

Would that be considered a ceremony?

Then the memo should be to dress for the weather! As long as everyone's moving and eating, the cold shouldn't touch any of us either.

She was trying to suck out everybody's life force with the machine she and her dumb sisters built, the Big-O'-Blaster. It was so she could fix up her ugly old skeleton of a body! [... Never mind that Kazooie and Banjo caused it to be a skeleton in the first place.]

She zapped King Singalong with it and stole his life force pretty early on... he would've been a zombie forever if we hadn't undone it.

Aqua is very talented with magic, and I think her spell may have been why you found your way to Riku and Sora ... but I don't think any of that could be considered a ceremony.

They all fit our different fighting styles. Ven's all about speed and maneuverability. Aqua could use hers to attack from afar. Mine is built strong enough for me to ram right into Unversed. [He finds himself vaguely thinking about that little blue alien, Experiment 626, and the spaceship he had been imprisoned in.]

She was asking for it, personally! The game before that, she stole Banjo's sister Tooty, just so she could take her looks. That was back when she still had a body to be stupid-looking with.

So all of the people in your Organization specialized in an element? [That's some pretty serious specializing. He wonders how well that had worked out for them.]

Right. Sometimes you can only rely on your own strength, not spells or extra skills.

There's something of a proper ceremony when a Master bestows the Keyblade to a new wielder. ...It's more of a speech than anything. [He chuckles quietly.]

Uh huh. ...let's see, Xigbar used space, Xaldin used wind, Vexen used ice, Lexaeus used the earth, Zexion used illusions, Saix used the moon, Axel uses fire, Demyx used water, Luxord used time manipulation, Larxene used lightning, Marluxia used flowers and Xion and I use light.

It got kind of complex...but everybody used their elements to fight.

[It happens when your memories and your whole life get manipulated. That can really mess a person up.]

I never got that. Riku just handed me a Keyblade and that was that. But that means you gave him a speech...[So wait, then how did Sora...this is kind of a lot to process.] It's really as simple as "I make you my successor"?

Exactly. When all else fails, it's important to know how to fight, not just throw spells around.
